About

Some only dream of cake. Others bake it happen!

My love affair with cake decorating began in high school back in 1978 when I watched a girl make and decorate a wedding cake as part of her year 12 home economics assessment. I was in year 10 at the time, and my imagination was totally captivated.

After I left school and started working, I took an evening class with women twice my age, they seemed old at the time, but looking back were most likely only in their 30’s. These women would be in their 80’s now, and that got me thinking about passing the craft down to our younger generation.

I spent a number of years making cakes for weddings, engagements, birthdays, and christenings, but the busy days of raising a family saw it all grind to a halt. Many years later I have decided to bring my love of baking to life through Strawberry Pudding.

Thank you for joining me here on the next chapter of this journey, this is my time to shine. You see there’s a dark side to being a cake decorator, we have no patience when waiting for fondant butterfly wings to dry overnight, or for our roses to set so we can add the next layer of petals… Patience is something I’ve learned through raising children, I now have grandchildren, and I understand the power of patience.
